For anyone who loves the game of soccer! Dr. Kuhlman specifically created The Soccer Assist to be a one-stop-shop for practical, affordable, and easy-to-follow prehab and rehab frameworks that can suit soccer lovers of all kinds. So whether you're a high school player, a college intramural player, a Sunday league MVP, a coach, or even a proud parent, The Soccer Assist is for you.

Yes! While the first third of the programs are geared towards acute injuries, the second two-thirds of the RECOVER programs can be used for acute and chronic injuries alike. Each phase in the program will have progression criteria at the end; if you have chronic pain, just look at those progression criteria and that will give you a good indication of where to start! Regardless of the progression criteria, some people like to start from the very beginning to create a strong foundation to build further upon.

These programs are designed with both new and veteran players in mind, with simple modifications available. Every exercise and movement is described both in writing and in a video to help all types of learners understand how to do them. Each step is meticulously explained, both how to do it and the reasoning behind it to make it as user friendly as possible.

Trust us, these guides will work for you. Dr. Kuhlman created these while working full-time with a two-year-old son...he knows hectic!

The exercises presented are condensed and distilled to get you the most effective results in the least amount of time possible, often just 10-15 minutes per day. You can fit many of these in on your lunch break or even after work while making dinner. 

While we make no guarantees about what other support you might need on your injury recovery journey, we can say that the The Soccer Assist's rehabilitation programs are highly affordable compared to traditional rehab routes. Trust us, we've been there. 

Assuming a basic health insurance plan, here's a conservative estimate of what someone might pay for more traditional rehab routes in the US:

• Sports Chiropractic Plan:
  • Standard treatment length: 20 visits (ranging between 10 - 20+ weeks)
  • 20 sessions @ $45 per session = $900
• Physical Therapy Plan:
  • Standard treatment length: 16 visits (ranging between 8 - 16+ weeks)
  • 16 sessions @ $80 per session = $1,280

These prices can be a lot higher depending on your insurance plan, the provider or practice, and how long it takes for you to fully heal. At these rates, you could get the entire RECOVER Guide for around the same cost as an initial "intake" appointment!

The Soccer Assist can provide the same rehabilitation value as traditional paths while saving you hundreds, if not thousands of dollars. Not to mention the time and energy of finding a suitable provider, scheduling/rescheduling appointments, insurance payments, and everything else that comes with outpatient treatment! Plus, our "prehab" programs are meant to prepare your body for optimal performance, potentially preventing serious injuries and associated medical costs down the road.

Anyone who has ever looked up anything on YouTube can attest that it can be like drinking from a firehose with so much (often conflicting) content available. There is not enough professionally developed content out there that is appropriate for the speed, load, flexion/extension, and other facets of soccer-specific injuries. And while a movement you find in a random online search might seem harmless, if it's done too soon or without proper technique it could be detrimental to your recovery.

The Soccer Assist guides are the distilled, efficient nuts and bolts of what you need to heal your soccer injury as quickly as possible. The greatest value in these guides is the organized, sequenced system of exercises, concepts and tests that build upon one another to get you back on the field in a way that your body will be ready for. And, while you can certainly do your own research, remember: Dr. Kuhlman has already spent 15+ years working with athletes and accumulating knowledge of what works and what doesn't. Don't waste your time!

As a general answer, yes. The injuries discussed in these guides need rest and protection in order to fully heal. Trying to play during the rehabilitation process can delay healing and greatly increase the risk of reinjury. We will do everything we can to get a ball back at your feet (safely) as soon as possible!

The short answer is yes, but on a couple conditions.

1. Obviously, do not do anything (besides what is recommended in these plans) that will induce any kind of stress on the knee joint, hamstring muscle group, or whichever body tissue you may have injured. I would stay away from big compound lifts and anything that requires loaded weight bearing, especially during the first two phases of the RECOVER programs. I recommend sticking to lifts and exercises that can be done seated or laying down that focus on the upper body.
2. Secondly, do not add anything new to your routine during this time. If you didn’t lift regularly before your injury, do not start now. Healing tissue takes up a surprising amount of energy, and starting a new type of exercise can impede that energy usage and take away from your long-term recovery. 

That said, if you already have a regular workout schedule during the week, I have found that the exercises in The Soccer Assist guides can fit nicely into a workout routine since you are already warmed up, set up, moving, and ready. Integrating these rehabilitating movements into a timeframe you have already set aside can be super efficient for you.

Yes! While these guides are technically designed for soccer players, the concepts and exercises can be used for any type of athlete! 

Not much! We specifically designed these programs to use as little equipment as possible to make it accessible for everyone. Even for the few times we use equipment, such as a foam roller or IASTM device, we give alternatives that can be found easily in the average household. 

IASTM is an abbreviation for Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization. This technique is a type of self-massage, but instead of using your hands you use a special instrument, usually with a rounded or beveled edge of some kind. IASTM brings more blood to the area, which shows up as redness during the treatment; more blood equals better healing. It has a similar mechanism to exercise: exercise creates micro damage to the working tissue, which then stimulates healing and growth cells. This technique is furthered explained in the PROTECT Guides.

Foam rolling helps to relieve muscles tenderness and soreness by using compression and massage to stimulate the reflexive relaxation neural pathway. This allows the muscle/tissue to relax without risking further possible over-stretch injuries.

While we encourage you to share any of our free resources (EDUCATE, PROTECT) with others, our paid programs (RECOVER) should be purchased by each individual player. This allows each player to track their recovery process accurately and safely rehabilitate their injury at their own pace via our online platform. This also lets Dr. Kuhlman to tailor any advice he provides to each player's specific needs.

We encourage all players to subscribe to The Soccer Assist's email list and social media to take advantage of Dr. Kuhlman's expert tips and techniques (used in real clinical settings) for free!

Yes! Our programs are mobile compatible. We recommend downloading the free Kajabi app in the Google or Apple store, and all your lessons will be easily accessible on your device. Alternatively, you should be able to simply use your device's internet browser to view the programming. 

With the exception of the printable checklists provided within the modules, the videos and written material presented in the RECOVER Guides (and other online programs offered by The Soccer Assist) can only be accessed through our online system. You must have an internet connection to access these materials.
